Bachelor of Science/Liberal Studies Major - Drama Track
The Liberal Studies Major is a unique major. It offers you the
opportunity not only to develop skills related to Drama, but you also
get a chance to tailor your educational program based on your future
plans. It
is a much more diverse major than traditional majors and can provide
you
with better preparation for continued studies or employment. It
is through this degree that you can learn how to make a career in Drama
work in the real world.
As you look at the major, you will notice that
there are three components, or steps, that allow you to specifically
design your degree according to your educational needs. Let's
look
at each one separately.
Component 1 - General Education
To help keep your educational experience broad enough to deal with the
reality of the real world marketplace, this major requires that you
complete a series of General Education Courses. These courses
include:
- 6 hrs English Composition I & II
- 3 hrs Principles of Speech
- 3 hrs Philosophy or Modern Culture &
Christianity
- 2 hrs Fitness and Wellness
- 1 hr P.E. Activity or Varsity Sport
- 3 hrs Math
- 4 hrs Science
- 3 hrs Personal Finance or Marriage & Family
- 2 hrs Computer Literacy
- 3 hrs History
- 3 hrs Psychology or Sociology
- 6 hrs Bible Survey Course I & II
- 3 hrs Old Testament Course
- 3 hrs New Testament Course
- 4 hrs Humanities
Component 2 -Drama Track
Building on the foundation you will receive through the General
Education Core, you can further tailor your educational program by
choosing two tracks. Being that you are reading this page,
we will assume that your first track choice is Drama. Some of the

Stage 3 - Choose Your Second Track
Now, you will need to choose a second track.
What do you want to do with your education in drama? Do you want
to be Minister of Creative Arts? Then you may want to choose
Practical Ministry as your second track. Do you think you might want to
be a playwright?
Then you may want to choose Journalism or English as your second track.

The Central Christian College Drama Department also offers the
following opportunities for involvement:
- Morning Star Revue (drama ministry team) - this group
organizes in the early fall and travels to churches, schools and other
organizations to use the art of drama to present the Gospel.
- Fall & Spring plays - highlighting the year are the
two unique productions of current and traditional plays.
- Interterm musical - during the month of January, any
student may participate in the Interterm Musical. The musical is
taken as a class and academic credit is given. Many different
parts and roles are available.
- Performing Arts Club - students may participate on an
extracurricular basis and will hear speakers, take tours, and take part
in other activities.
