Bachelor of Science/Liberal
Studies Major -Accounting
The Liberal Studies major is a unique major. It offers you the
opportunity not only to develop skills related to Accounting, but you
also get a chance to tailor your major based on your future
plans. It is a much more diverse major than traditional majors,
and can provide you with better preparation for continued studies or
employment. It is through this major that you can learn how to
begin a career utilizing your accounting skills, even in organizations
where accounting is not
the major focus.
As you look at the major, you will notice that there are three
components, or steps, that allow you to specifically design your degree
according to your educational needs. Let's look at each one
separately.
Component 1 - General Education Requirements
To help keep your educational experience broad enough to deal with the
reality of the real world marketplace, the Liberal Studies Major-
Accounting requires that you complete a series of General
Education Courses. These courses include:
6 hrs English Composition I & II
3 hrs Principles of Speech
3 hrs Philosophy or Modern Culture & Christianity
2 hrs Fitness and Wellness
1 hr P.E. Activity or Varsity Sport
3 hrs Math
4 hrs Science
3 hrs Personal Finance or Marriage & Family
2 hrs Computer Literacy
3 hrs History
3 hrs Psychology or Sociology
6 hrs Bible Survey Course I & II
3 hrs Old Testament Course
3 hrs New Testament Course
4 hrs Humanities
Component 2 - Accounting Track
Now that we have the basics out of the way, let's get to the real
reason
you are checking out this program - Accounting. In order to
complete this degree, you need to choose two tracks. Since you are
reading this
page, we will assume that your first track choice is Accounting.

Component 3 - Choosing Your Second Track
Since the Liberal Studies Major - Accounting allows you to shape your
program according to your specific needs, you will need to choose
a second track. What do you want to do with your major related to
Accounting? How you answer that question will
determine what your second concentration will be. Below, you will

Psychology or Sociology Tracks)
