What is a Liberal Studies Major?Central's unique major is Liberal Studies. Students seeking this degree will gain a broad background of knowledge, as well as specialized training. This major offers the student a choice of seven concentrations: Business, Communications, Social Science, Science/Math, Humanities, Philosophy/Religion, and Sport Science & Health (Physical Education). Students may also select different areas of emphases (tracks) within each concentration. Currently, there are thirty-eight tracks from which to choose. This allows students, working with their advisors, to customize their degrees according to their personal and career interests.
All students majoring in Liberal Studies take a General Education Core of courses designed to develop their people-skills (communication and decision-making) and critical-thinking skills. These courses constitute a very important component of the degree, as a lack of these skills is a major concern to the world of employment.
Central Christian College alumni, throughout America and the world,
are treated with the greatest respect in terms of their productivity,
achievement, citizenship, and Christian influence.

The most important difference is the Christian perspective you will
receive during your time here. Unlike some schools that have Christian
in their name, but keep Christ out of the classroom, Central is
serious about keeping Christ at the center of all we do. We are
dedicated to providing you with a
personalized Christian educational experience, while at the same time
helping you
grow to your full potential in Christ. You
can be assured that your professors will help you to not only
understand
concepts associated with academic disciplines, but they will also help
you
understand where God fits into the picture
Of significant strength is our academic environment. Most classes have an average of 16 students. This means you will benefit from a personalized education, an education where you and the instructor have the chance to interact on a regular basis. Here at Central Christian you will not become a number. Each student is viewed as a unique individual.
