Bachelor of Science -Exercise Science Major


The mission of the Exercise Science Major program at Central Christian College is designed to produce graduates who are qualified in the areas of exercise leadership, exercise testing, and evaluation, exercise prescription, and program directors.  Also, graduates would be qualified and prepared to pursue particular certification levels in exercise as per the guidelines developed by the American College of Sports Medicine.  Finally, graduates would also be prepared to pursue graduate studies in the area of Exercise Science and/or related fields such as Kinesiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.

The curriculum for this major is designed to provide a combination of academic study and practical experiences which will provide meaningful and effective learning experiences for the student in a variety of exercise settings.  Each student is required to complete an internship in an approved fitness related agency supervised by a qualified professional in the related field.

The Exercise Science Major is using the NASPE Basic Standards for the Professional Preparation in Exercise Science.
