If you have ministry as a calling and sense that God is directing you
into a broad area of ministry in the body of Christ, then this major
might
be the best choice. For example, if your calling is more along
the
lines of Christian counseling (pre-counseling), industrial missions,
missions aviation, contemporary Christian music, Christian music
performance, Christian camping, Christian education, etc., this major
will provide an opportunity to further develop specific skills. Some of
the classes you might be taking include:

- Introduction to Christian Education
- Counseling
- Youth Ministry I
- Theology of the Holy Spirit
- History of Christianity
- Organizational Behavior Leadership
- Introduction to Theology I & II
- Teaching As A Ministry
- Church Planting/Introduction to Missions
- Preaching/Worship Leadership
- New Testament Theology of Evangelism
- Children's Ministry
- Applied Care Groups
- Various Bible Courses
General Education Courses
Besides your Ministry related courses, you will also need to take
a few General Education Courses. These courses are included as a
part of your degree to help enhance your educational experience and
give
you that extra edge in the "real world".

- 3 hrs Philosophy or Modern Culture &
Christianity
- 2 hrs Fitness and Wellness
- 1 hr P.E. Activity or Varsity Sport

Missionary Emphasis
Students interested in pursuing a ministry in missions have a real
opportunity to enlarge their preparation for this field. They are
encouraged to pursue a basic program for ministry and to enhance it
with practical courses in the following areas: language; cross cultural
communication, Interterm (January) missions trip, photography, first
aid, aviation, and nutrition. Also, a practicum may be arranged
in Mexico, in an inner-city ministry, or at a Navajo mission.
