Bachelor of Science in Ministry
Youth Ministry Major

Youth Ministry Major
Students seeking to develop the necessary skills to become effective Youth Workers/Pastors will find the comprehensive and practical depth of the Youth Ministry major more than able to prepare them for the rigors of youth ministry.  Specific attention is given to empower students with the necessary tools to effectively develop and maintain a Biblically designed ministry to students.  Practical philosophy and theology is balanced with an emphasis on strategic thinking and planning.  Students graduating from this major will not be dependent on the latest curriculum or fad youth program, but will be able to direct a ministry to students resulting in spiritual impact.  Some of the courses you may be taking are:

General Education Courses
Besides your Ministry related courses, you will also need to take a few General Education Courses.  These courses are included as a part of your degree to help enhance your educational experience and give you that extra edge in the "real world".

Strategic Partnerships

Besides a staff that offers multiple years of successful student ministry experience, the Youth Ministry track is enhanced by its partnerships with organizations like Sonlife Ministries and Youth Specialties (See below for more information).

Central Christian College, in partnership with Youth Specialties and Zondervan, is dedicated to helping equip those called to work in student ministry.  Central is an official member of the Youth Specialties Academic Support Network. Each year students attend Youth Specialties National Training, as well as the Core.  Students remaining at Central for a full four years have an opportunity to be Core Certified by the time they graduate.  Due to the partnership Central and Youth Specialties share, each year students will have the chance to personally preview and test the latest youth ministry curriculum and resources. You can also visit the Youth Specialties website at www.YouthSpecialties.com for other excellent training and resources.

The Youth Ministries Program at Central Christian College is also partnered with SONLIFE Ministries in its effort to raise a generation of youth workers dedicated to balanced, Biblical Youth Ministry.  Central Christian College has a certified Foundations Trainer on staff, and students seeking a degree through Central Christian College will have the opportunity to participate in FOUNDATIONS, STRATEGY I, and a number of HOW TO Training Seminars.  Visit SONLIFE at www.sonlife.com.
