Two Year Career Entry Programs

Central Christian College maintains a number of two year career entry programs in the Social Science department to provide for the needs of our students.  Students who complete the two year Associate in Arts degree will find an easy transition into the Bachelor of Science - Social Science Major, Bachelor of Science - Psychology Major, or Bachelor of Science - Liberal Studies Major here at Central because the general education requirements are very similar.

Criminal Justice Associate
This program is designed for the student who is interested in a career in law, who would like two years of college to prepare for career entry in the field of law enforcement or corrections.  Professionals in the field, including the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), teach selected courses.

Social Science-History
History majors can become teachers, researchers, news analysts, lawyers, museum directors, or political and governmental workers.  An interest in working with people, as well as the ability to grasp concepts and analyze issues, are important skills needed by the student entering this field.

Social Science-Social Service Associate
The social service graduate will be working in the social welfare areas of our society.  These are occupations.

Through cooperative education, a student may be involved in service to the aged, underprivileged, problem adolescent, mentally disabled, and others.  An interest in people and their needs is of primary importance in considering this occupational area.  Other considerations would be one’s own personal growth, communication skills, and ability to build meaningful relationships.

An Associate in Arts degree prepares a student for employment as a human service aide, mental health worker, public assistance worker, house parent, etc.  This training can also be a component in our 4-year Liberal Studies Major,
