Central Christian College of Kansas Volleyball Spikes to the Top 10 in the Nation for Team GPA
McPherson, KS – July 26, 2018 –The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced their recipients for the 2017-18 Team Academic Award. For the second year in a row, Central Christian College of Kansas Women’s Volleyball has received national recognition for their performance in the classroom. Out of the record 975 teams that were awarded overall, Central Christian College of Kansas Women’s Volleyball was ranked in the top 10 for GPA in the NAIA division. Coach Jeremy Manning and his Lady Tigers take their competitive spirit from court to classroom without a single misstep.
This award is presented to teams who have demonstrated absolute excellence in the classroom. To earn this honor, Central Volleyball smashed out an amazing 3.71 team GPA. Central is in great company for this award: NCAA volleyball powerhouse
We at Central look forward to watching how this award translates to their success in the upcoming 2018-19 Tiger season. Their roster is slotted with mainly seasoned returners as well as several new student-athletes who are sure to add additional depth and energy to the program! They are excited to welcome Victoria Coopman, a transfer from Neosho Community College, as well as freshman Anslee Bridges (Lawton, Oklahoma), McKenzee Cook (Glendale, Arizona), and Megan Knuth (Peoria, Arizona.)
Jeremy Manning’s Lady Tigers open on the road at NCAA DII Cameron University on August 21. Their home opener is on September 11 at 6 pm against the USAO Drovers.
