Online Student Dies in the Line of Duty 08-Sep-2014
Corporal Jason Harwood (40), a highly decorated 15-year veteran and student in our Criminal Justice program was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, 7 September. Corporal Harwood was responding to a disturbance on Sunday evening, when shots were fired. Jason was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead. Corporal Hardwood served in the Topeka Police Department and leaves behind a wife and two children.
The Central Christian College Family grieves with the news of this tragedy. We ask that you be in prayer for the Harwood family and the Topeka Police Department through these difficult and sad times. Also, please remember Tom Greco (Director of the Criminal Justice Program), the Faculty of the Criminal Justice Program, and Jason’s fellow students as they remember and honor one of their own.
Corporal Jason Harwood, a Central Christian College online Criminal Justice student, gave his life in the line of duty serving the Topeka KS community, Sunday September 7th, 2014. He served with honor for the past 15 years in the Topeka Police Department and had recently become a part of the CCC, as he began his studies January 2014. He is survived by his wife and 2 young sons. The CCC family send out our prayers and thoughts for the family and friends during this time.
