Position Announcement – Admissions Counselor

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this person is responsible for recruitment of a full complement of new students as an admissions representative.  The admissions counselor will be a representative for the College at functions both on and off campus and will be expected to be proficient in all aspects of Central Christian College life including academic and activity programs, requirements, social and spiritual life opportunities as well as financial aid and scholarship matters.

A qualified candidate must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and support the Christian character and mission of Central Christian College.  The candidate must also possess a clear understanding of and ability to articulate the essentials of a Christian liberal arts college.  Additionally, the person must possess the necessary communication, leadership, and organizational skills to be an integral part of a successful, results-oriented, energetic admissions program.

  2. Ability to communicate and work effectively with prospective students and families
  3. Strong organizational and management skills
  4. Demonstrated ability to make effective oral and written communications
  5. Capacity to grasp and communicate to a broad range of constituencies
  6. Developed computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Prezi
  7. Bachelor’s degree required


  1. Serves as primary admissions representative for assigned academic departments and geographic area
  2. Make a minimum of 120 communication contacts (including phone, email, and online) with prospective students each week
  3. Personally recruit 15-25 new students each fall
  4. Facilitate and host campus visits of prospective students and families and other key guests
  5. Participate in organization and implementation of campus visit/Preview Days and campus recruitment events
  6. Represent Central Christian College at college fairs, Christian and public high schools, home school organizations, churches, conferences and other events as required
  7. Create and implement individual marketing plan for assigned academic program and geographic territory
  8. Establish and maintain relationship with guidance counselor, pastors, alumni and key influencers
  9. Participate in the continued development of the College website, additional recruitment microsites and online social networks
  10. Other duties as assigned
