Key Dates to Remember

If selected for verification (about 30% of applicants, per Department of Education), we’ll gently guide you through submitting items like tax forms, verification worksheets, or other proofs (e.g., selective service card, social security card, or citizenship verification). Once complete, we may update your FAFSA for accuracy – check your student portal for details.

October 1: FAFSA opens for the upcoming academic year – start early for peace of mind.

After January 1: New Pell Grant figures are released, allowing us to begin packaging awards (estimates available sooner).

April 1: Priority deadline for the Kansas Comprehensive Grant – don’t miss out on this need-based support.

Federal and State Grants & Loans: Building Blocks of Affordability

Rooted in our faith-centered mission, these programs equip you with resources to honor God through your education.

Aid disburses 30–60 days after classes begin (or 20 days post-valid ISIR), crediting your account. We’re here to explain eligibility and walk you through applications with Biblical encouragement.

For Kansas residents enrolled full-time at CCCK, offering $1,500–$3,000 based on need up to $10,000 for eligible students. Maintain a 2.0 GPA to continue – FAFSA due by April 1.
Extra support for high-need students with Pell eligibility, awarded in $400 increments by CCCK.
Borrow up to $3,500 (freshman), $4,500 (sophomore), or $5,500 (junior/senior). Government covers interest while you're in school; repay over 10 years post-graduation.
Similar limits, but you handle interest – great for those without full need-based qualification. Additional amounts available for independents or if parents are denied PLUS loans.
Parents can borrow up to your cost of attendance minus other aid. Repayment starts 30–60 days after disbursement, over up to 10 years.
