APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID
Students wishing to apply for Federal and State financial aid should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available from Central or your high school guidance office. This "need analysis" application determines a student's eligibility for state and federal funds by analyzing income and asset data. Remember to include our school code of 001908 on the application so that Central will receive this information.
There is no application for institutional scholarships but you must be accepted by Central in order to receive an institutional award. The Church Matching Grant and Ministerial Grant require applications for eligibility.
It is important that you apply early in the spring before your fall enrollment. Central has a priority Date of March 1st.
The Process of Verification
Once the financial aid office receives your ISIR (Institutional Student Information Record (processed FAFSA)) we will review the application. The Department of Education selects 30% of all applications for Verification. In this case, Central will request that you submit signed copies of both parent and student tax forms along with a completed "verification worksheet" (provided by Central). This must be completed for you to be eligible for both Federal and State aid.
There may be other documents we need to verify your FAFSA. These documents might include; selective service card, social security card, marriage certificate, verification of citizenship, verification of specific financial data, professional judgment records, or a new signature statement to complete the FAFSA.
Once the verification process is completed, we may need to submit corrections on your application in order to have a valid ISIR.
