Ministry Theology

OverviewQuick facts about Ministry

“I look upon all the world as my parish; thus far I mean, that, in whatever part of it I am, I judge it meet, right, and my bounden duty to declare unto all that are willing to hear, the glad tidings of salvation. This is the work which I know God has called me to; and sure I am that His blessing attends it.” -John Wesley

Whether it means pursuing a career in full-time ministry or simply being equipped to live faithfully every day, following Jesus is the key to a life of purpose in a world full of ambiguity and trivia. We cannot escape the truth that we are incomplete unless we are actively involved in a personal relationship with our God and Father. All the learning in the world amounts to nothing, unless applied to a life lived for Christ. That is when a life takes on meaning. It sweeps away the mundane and makes all that we do an incredible spiritual journey. Studying ministry at Central Christian College will provide you the experience and training to make that adventure a reality and bring light to a lost and dying world.

Our ministry program is dedicated to helping you gain the knowledge needed to serve God as well as the practical experience to do so with excellence. You can expect experiential training, which includes a strong emphasis on spiritual formation, small group relationships, leadership and a solid Biblical foundation.

We invite you to apply today and take the next step on your spiritual journey through ministry.

Because we view education as a journey, we place the utmost importance on giving students the opportunities to ask the hard questions and learn how to find answers. Our average class size is small (10 to 15 students) and our faculty is dedicated, both in and outside the classroom, to walking with each student on this journey. Through this structure, the department seeks to...

  • ...prepare all students to participate in society from the perspective of a Christian faith commitment.
  • ...cultivate graduates in ministry who are biblically sound.
  • ...form ministry graduates who are theologically sound.
  • ...ensure that ministry graduates are spiritually formed.
  • ...provide the necessary training opportunities so that ministry graduates are professionally competent./div>

Our graduates are accepted at some of the top seminaries in the US including Asbury Theological Seminary, Fuller Theological Seminary, Denver Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. Our alumni include senior pastors, youth pastors, worship leaders, missionary pilots with Wycliff Bible Translators, and workers for the Kingdom in closed countries.

Central Christian College of Kansas welcomes ministry students from all denominational and non-denominational backgrounds. No requirement is placed on students to their Christian background for the Ministry and Theology Department. The department has a strong relationship with many local churches of different denominations providing ministry opportunities both on and off campus. Central Christian College of Kansas is associated with the Free Methodist Church of North America and is therefore influenced by Wesleyan heritage and practice.
