In addition to advanced degrees and education, the faculty that teach at Central have backgrounds in vocational ministry - having served as pastors, missionaries, and/or ministers within Christian organizations. Many serve on boards of local ministries and are currently involved in local churches. You can see an abbreviated list of some of the faculty here.
The Ministry Leadership degree prepares men and women for kingdom service. The degree pays particular attention to careful biblical study, deep theological thinking, personal spiritual formation, and professional competence.
In 22 months, you can complete a degree in Ministry Leadership. Some who have received this degree from Central have gone on to graduate school, while others have been appointed to local churches as lead pastors or associate ministers. Some graduates have taken roles in a parachurch ministry – including summer camps, homeless shelters, and humanitarian organizations. Some simply wanted to be as effective a lay minister as possible, and after graduation have remained as volunteers at their local churches while staying employed in a non-ministry related field.
You would participate in a series of 16 six-week modules, focusing on one class at a time. Because each course is completed in the six-week format, each class requires approximately 20 hours of attention per week, including homework, reading, writing and in-class time. The class time is in an “asynchronous” format, which means that you can join the class at any time during the week that is convenient for you (within the boundaries of certain course-specific criteria).
