About the Club


The Central Christian College chapter of Phi Beta Lambda exists to serve as a vital link between education and experience by providing opportunities to develop business skills necessary for success in all aspects of life and ministry.

PBL is organized on local, state and national levels. Business teachers/advisers and advisory councils (including school officials, business people and community representatives) guide local chapters. Central’s advisor is Professor Jerry Fithian. State advisers and committee members coordinate chapter activities for the national organization.

Every year a group of PBL students from Central compete at the state level. Testing covers numerous fields of business. Usually we bring home 30-40 awards. You can see our awards hanging on a wall in the Business Department next to the Archer Center in the RBC building.

Each year, the best and brightest of PBL convene in a national conference to compete in leadership events, share their successes and learn new ideas about shaping their career future. These four-day sessions are considered the pinnacle of the PBL experience. Central has had six students participate in Nationals, and every student has placed in the top 10 Nationally in their events.

Traditionally business majors are most eager to join PBL. PBL is a fantastic opportunity for students trying to decide if business is the right course for them. Also, it is great for business students to reinforce their chosen course and to learn and play with peers of common interests and goals.

The Central chapter of PBL would like to welcome all current members and everyone interested in joining to attend one of our monthly meetings (see schedule). Don’t let such a great opportunity pass you by another year.
