Job Description

McPherson law firm is currently seeking an organized and self-motivated Legal Assistant to join its fast-paced commercial firm

 A dynamic, growing and progressive commercial law firm in McPherson is seeking an experienced legal assistant to join their legal team.  Candidates must feel comfortable working closely with attorneys to manage a sizeable, ever growing and active case load.  Candidates must be detail-oriented, energetic and most show a strong commitment to the team environment dynamics of the firm. 

 Job Responsibilities:  

•Provides excellent customer service to the client by routinely updating/communicating with them.

•Prepares correspondence and legal documents from verbal or written instructions; transcribes dictation; composes routine letters and memos.

 •Under the supervision of an attorney, review and analyze various legal documents, files legal documents with the court.

•Prepares and assembles documents and materials for meetings and court appearances.

•Takes ownership of matters as they are assigned and provide timely updates to attorneys within the firm.

•Providing organizational and substantive administrative support to attorneys and other members of the Legal Department including but not limited to general secretarial duties, calendar monitoring, scheduling meetings or in making travel arrangements.

 Job Requirements:

 •Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas and information effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

•Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.

•Superior organizational and time management skills.

•Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

•High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

•Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, others in the firm.

•Demonstrable professionalism and ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues.

•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and other Office programs.

•Bachelor’s Degree and/ or paralegal certificate preferred.
