- Must have a major or concentration in Natural Science or Math
- Must be a graduating Senior
- Must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA
- It is expected that the recipient will also exhibit Christian commitment and leadership.
The Following is the Speech Presented by Division Chair Mr. Mike Craig
This year’s recipient is Reece Warren.
To ensure objectivity and to help us narrow our selection to one person, we use a mathematical formula that takes into account additional factors such as science/math GPA, involvement in Science Club, and character.
Reece has met all of the requirements of the award. He also decided that one major was not enough. Besides a business major, he decided to add a Natural Science Major with an emphasis in Mathematics. Reece is definitely not afraid of hard work. I was particularly impressed this past year as he tackled the upper level math courses necessary for his degree. He did this while being a husband, playing his sport, and leading student government. I have had Reece in a couple of classes and I have never heard him complain about the work load. He just rolls up his sleeves and gets started.
In working with Reece, I have the sense that he gets what Paul wrote in Colossians (3:23) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters … It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Well done, Reece. It has been a privilege working with you. May God richly bless your future.
