I can’t access the library catalog. What do I do?
Try watching our tutorial about logging into the library catalog and databases. If you are still having trouble, contact the library at (620) 241-0723 ext. 360, or use the “ask a librarian” feature at the bottom of the page.
What is a database?
It is a collection of scholarly articles you can reference while writing your own research paper.
How can I access the library databases?
Go to Briner Library Online and login. If you have trouble, try watching our tutorial.
What is a journal article?
It is an article written by scholars or professionals who are experts in their field. The articles are published in academic journals (like a magazine for academics). These are good resources to use when writing a paper because you know the article is written and reviewed by experts.
Why can’t I use Google?
Anyone can post something on the Internet. Using databases helps ensure that the information you are receiving is correct and academic in nature. For more information try reading through our Briner vs. the Web comparison.
Can you help me write my paper?
How do I cite an article?
Try using Purdue Owl. You can also find information on how to set up a correctly formatted paper.
