Why Cummunicative Arts Matters

We use communication everyday, and in more ways than we realize. Whether it’s the media we watch and listen to or the ways we engage in our interpersonal relationships, we are always participating in communication. It’s everywhere. That’s why we put such an emphasis on cultivating students who understand how to communicate while incorporating a Christian worldview. “The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips.” Proverbs 16:23.

Honor Societies

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta is an International English honor society that receives members by invitation only. Central Christian College of Kansas chapter, Alpha Sigma Iota (ASI), consists of students who: 1) rank in the top 35% of entire student body based on cumulative GPA; 2) maintain a 3.0 GPA in their English courses; and 3) complete at least two English courses beyond the required English Composition courses. The purposes of this society are to facilitate academic and professional growth through participating in rewarding activities such as fundraisers, outings, service projects, open-mic readings, competitions, and workshops. Through fostering the discipline of creative and critical thinking, ASI also hopes to promote interest in literature and to promote a better understanding of the English language on our campus and in our surrounding community.
