Alumni Obituary – Rodney Allen Martin

Rodney MartinYukon, Oklahoma – Rodney Allen Martin (CC ’85), age 56, of Yukon, Oklahoma was born to Doyle Lee (CC ’61) and Beverly (Parks) Martin (CC ’61) on December 18, 1964, in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Rodney entered eternal life on August 26, 2021.

Rodney spent most of his growing-up days in Oregon and Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Sioux City North High school and then attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas majoring in business. Rodney served his country in the U.S. Air Force where he was a military police officer. He spent most of his time serving at Heathrow Air Base in London and Offutt Air Base in Omaha, Nebraska. Rodney took great pride in his Air Force service.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast, fisherman, and sight-seeing traveler. One of the highlights in his life was being with his niece and two nephews. Two months ago he met up with two of them, Elle and Holt, and took them on a big fishing trip to Broken Bow; his most recent pleasure. His spiritual gift was always helping others.

Rodney is survived by his father Doyle Martin, brothers Monte Martin and Brent Martin, niece Elle, and Nephews Holt and Luke. He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Martin.
