Barreiro Becomes Doctor

Central Christian College is proud to recognize the achievements of Dr. Enrique Barreiro on the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation through Trident and American InterContinental University. The dissertation entitled, “The Impact of Occupational Culture Fit on Occupational Global Job Embeddedness, Occupational Commitment and Occupational Turnover intentions” was the culmination of a three-year process, earning Dr. Barreiro the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration – concentration: Management and Organizations.

During his time at Trident and American InterContinental University, Barreiro set a new record for presenting and defending a dissertation. So much so that Dr. Barreiro has been asked to speak to the other Ph.D. students about an “effective dissertation process”, as well as collaborate on future research projects. Dr. Barreiro will be featured at graduation on July 25^th.

As he reflected over the last three years, Dr. Barreiro stated, “The process was difficult and rigorous, yet fulfilling and rewarding. I had the pleasure of working with quality professionals”. Having completed this work, Dr. Barreiro looks forward to assisting CCCK as it pursues its first graduate program in school history. He will continue to serve as an instructor in the CCCK Business Department.

President Favara, Central’s 14^th President, stated, “I have always been proud of the work produced by Dr. Barreiro. His tenacity and pursuit of excellence serve as an inspiration for those who have the honor of working with him. The completion of this degree highlights the character and achievements that define the good work of Dr. Barreiro.”

Dr. Barreiro would like to express his thanks to the Central Christian College of Kansas family who were actively involved in the process. “A sincere thanks to President Favara who has supported me throughout the entire process. Thanks to Dr. Ferrell and Mr. Whitehouse in the business department for supporting and making the process flexible. Thanks to IT for helping during data collection. Additional thanks to Dean Kaufman, Dr. Kroeker, former President Hal Hoxie, Col. Greco, and the Board for allowing me to start and complete the Ph.D. program.”
