Central Hosts Career Fair

McPherson police department talks to Central student at Career FairOn Thursday, March 30th, Central’s Student Success Center hosted a Career Fair in the North Gym. Students in the Career Exploration Course helped develop this event alongside Jacob Rudolph, Central’s on-campus Student Success Specialist.

Multiple businesses were represented at the Career Fair, including McPherson Police Department, McPherson Fire Department, Wichita School District, McPherson School District, Sedgwick County HR, Sedgwick County Corrections, COMCARE, PEM, Grasshopper, Viega, Adams Brown, Four Seasons Reality, Team Employment, and Swindoll Janzen Hawk and Loyd.

Dr. Lara Vanderhoof, Chief Academic Officer, commented on the event,

“The Career Fair was not simply a class project, but a way to help students gain practical experience meeting with businesses and organizations as they secured internships and potential employment.  The students in the Career Exploration  organized this event learning project management skills, collaboration, team work, and communication skills. “

Sarah Castleman of USD-259 had this to say,

“It was wonderful getting to connect with various CCCK students regarding the many opportunities Wichita Public Schools has to offer, both in and out of the classroom!”
