CCCK Team Wins NCCAA Pro-Am Scholarship Tournament

CCCK Pro-Am TeamMcPherson, Kansas – Each year, the NCCAA holds its Pro-Am golf tournament, which includes a college scholarship round as part of the event. In this round teams of four, representing their respective NCCAA member schools, compete to earn scholarship money for their school via multiple formats. This scholarship is to be awarded to a student-athlete who is a missions or ministry-related major.

Central’s recipients of this generous scholarship are sophomore softballer Madison Morton of Simi Valley, California, and freshman golfer Drake Day of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Congratulations to both on earning this prestigious scholarship.

In addition to the missions/ministry scholarships, the 2021 Pro-Am, which has a goal of fundraising for student-athletes, coaches, and sports ministry trips, raised over $20,000 in support. These funds will assist the NCCAA in sharing the Gospel around the world through athletics outreach. Many lives are changed each year through these trips.

In a letter to President Lenny Favara (CC ’89, ’91), Dan Wood, the Executive Director of the NCCAA wrote,

We are pleased to award the John & Jody Wheeler Ministry Scholarship to Central Christian College of Kansas and trust you will select a deserving student-athlete to receive it. We are thankful that you are members of the NCCAA and covet your prayers on behalf of the work of our association. May God bless your efforts at CCCK.

In response to this achievement, President Favara stated,

We deeply appreciate the willingness of folks like Hal and Dave, who are willing to represent the needs of students and who have the skills to make that representation profitable. There are student today who are benefiting from the investment of their time and talent. Thank you!
