Central Launches New Online Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Services
McPherson, Kansas – Central Christian College of Kansas (CCCK) is proud to announce the launch of a new online Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services degree program to address the growing demand of professionals in this field. The program’s 100% online format allows busy professionals to pursue their higher education goals while continuing to work full time.
Led by expert faculty, students will gain in-depth knowledge and develop skills in various areas of human services spanning psychology, rehabilitation, social work, family support, criminal justice and health services, among others.
The growing number of older adults needing access to care and people living in extreme poverty has necessitated a demand for experienced and empathetic health and human services professionals. CCCK’s new online BS in Health and Human Services degree is designed to prepare graduates to serve these “need-based” populations and ensure that they get the best support, care, and access to available community services and resources.
The very heart of health and human services assumes a focus on helping individuals access and maximize the services that are available to them. Successful health and human service professionals need a balanced approach to care, which is well represented in the educational philosophy that CCCK calls the Fit Four: Education for Heart, Mind, Body and Soul.
The core curriculum includes courses like Health & Human Services, Legal and Ethical Issues in Human Services, Applied Case Management, Organizational Behavior & Leadership, Developmental Psychology, Marriage & Family and Social Psychology among others.
Students will learn to apply critical thinking to real-world situations, identify, plan, and utilize resources to improve client situations, utilize information and systems to appropriately manage and deliver human services and keep up with best practices and current trends related to the human services profession.
With demand for Health and Human Services majors showing no sign of slowing down, now is a great time to enroll in the program. With job skills and hands-on experience incorporated into the curriculum, students are prepared for advancement in their careers.
