Central Partners with MRC for Soccer Camp

Last week, the Central Christian College of Kansas Soccer Programs, in conjunction with the local McPherson Recreation Commission, hosted the 25th annual Victory Soccer Camp at CCCK. The camp ran from July 6-July 10 and had to be held at Grant Park to help maintain proper social distancing. With over 100 players from the local region, the camp saw tremendous attendance despite the difficult circumstances that presented itself this summer. Coach Hoxie commented,

I was nervous that the camp wasn’t going to be attended well due to the date change. I was curious to see how the traditional camp format would play out at Grant Park because we lost our indoor program, which is a fan favorite amongst the campers each year.  But everything went off without any issues. Tyler at the MRC did very well at communicating with parents and Sean and his MRC grounds crew were wonderful in providing access to vehicles, ice machines, water, clean facilities, etc…always with a smile on their faces! My staff was fantastic, despite the heat, they worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone was safe and had a great time. Finally, the players were wonderful! They all were super pumped to be out there having a bit of a kick, something they were recently robbed of.

Campers came from all over the local region to enjoy the camp with McPherson, Lindsborg, Salina, Hesston, Inman, and Hutchinson all being represented. The camp continues to grow each year and the coaching staff was able to maintain a 10-1 camper to coach ratio.

Plans are already underway to establish a date for the 26th annual Victory Soccer Camp at Central. The time and location are to be decided as Coach Hoxie will be reformatting his summer camps.
