Cromwell Installed as Chaney Bible Lecturer

Dr. CromwellMcPherson, Kansas – Central Christian College of Kansas is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Mindi Grieser Cromwell was officially installed as the Edris and Albert Chaney Bible Lecturer during the 2021 Academic Convocation. Dr. Cromwell, who serves as the Chair of the Ministry and Theology Department, currently holds a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Saint Louis University. She has over 13 years of higher education classroom experience, including time served at Spring Arbor University and Greenville University. Additionally, Dr. Cromwell, an ordained minister in the Free Methodist Church, also serves as the Chair of the Free Methodist Committee on History and Archives.

The Edris and Albert Chaney Bible Lecturer was named in honor of Albert Chaney (CC ’24) who faithfully served as a member of the Central Christian College Board of Trustees for 43 years. His wife, Edris (Morrison) (CC ’23), was a devoted wife and mother whose love for the Lord was expressed through her musical talents. Both Albert and Edris had a passion for the Lord and a desire to have the truths of the Word of God taught faithfully in their lifetime and for generations to come. The Chaneys dedicated their lives to the ministry of sharing the saving power of Christ and his Word. In recognition of this passion, their daughter Beverly (CC ’57) and her husband, Dr. Richard Spann provided a generous donation establishing the lecturer position.

Dr. Leonard Favara (CC ’89, ’91), 14th President of CCCK, said,

It is an honor to have Dr. Cromwell named as the Edris and Albert Chaney Bible Lecturer. Dr. Cromwell truly embodies the intent of this distinction, which is focused on ensuring that the role of biblical instruction remains paramount at the College. We are privileged to have her as a member of our faculty and appreciate her unswerving focus on promoting biblical teaching and sound doctrine.

Reflecting on the tradition of this honor, Favara added,

Central Christian College of Kansas deeply appreciates the Spann family and their ongoing commitment to the mission of the College. It is through the support of friends, like the Spann’s, that CCCK can continue to pursue the mission of being a Christ-Centered Education for Character.
