CHS Named Central’s Business of the Quarter

CHS receives Business of the Quarter AwardMcPherson, Kansas – Central Christian College of Kansas (CCCK) is proud to announce that McPherson’s CHS Refinery has been recognized as its Business of the Quarter recipient. Central’s Advancement Office was on hand to deliver the award to CHS, the second honoree since CCCK began the recognition earlier this year (People’s Bank and Trust was the first honoree). Dr. Dean Kroeker, Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Relations, presented a framed certificate of appreciation to Debbie Robinson, Director of Human Resources. In addition, CHS received a framed print of a painting of Central’s campus – original artwork painted by Ms. Amy Goering (former CCCK art instructor).

Since 1943 McPherson’s CHS Refinery has been a staple of the community. For nearly 80 years, the refinery has provided oil refinery, transportation, crude oil, agriculture, energy, and industrial to the McPherson area. CHS is a leading global agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers, and cooperatives across the United States.  CHS Refinery-McPherson refines and produces Cenex branded gasoline and diesel fuel with more than 400 employees at the McPherson location.

Dr. Dean Kroeker had this to say about CHS’s recognition,

It is an honor for Central Christian College of Kansas to recognize CHS as the Business of the Quarter. This local business exemplifies the mission and vision of our college and is based on business principles reflected by the recipient’s corporate vision. The demonstration of valuing higher education and financial support qualifies CHS to receive the Business of the Quarter award.
