Giving Tuesday 2021

Thank You!

For the third year in a row, Central has had a successful Giving Tuesday campaign in its funding of the primary projects!

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 with a simple idea: “A day that encourages people to do good.” Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity together.

This was Central’s third year participating in Giving Tuesday. In 2019, the alumni and friends of the college raised several thousand dollars to install a disc golf course and a hammock farm on campus. In 2020, we raised over $10,000 to help refurbish the Mingenback Hall lobby and give students another study space option. In light of COVID-19, these projects have had a larger impact than we were initially expecting, creating additional opportunities for students to either be active outside, studying together, or even socially distancing. Now in 2021, over $6,800 was raised to update Greer Auditorium, three Science Hall Classrooms, and the lecture hall on campus. If you are interested in participating in the two remaining projects go to www.ccckfoundation.org/giving-tuesday

These projects will make noticeable improvements to three high traffic areas of campus all directly impacting students experience this spring!

Thanks to the incredible work the CCCK Maintenance Department led by Kelly Pauls the work has already started on Greer Auditorium! In partnership with Giving Tuesday, this break the College has also started renovating the third floor of Science Hall. Check out a sneak peak of the progress on both projects below:
