Men’s Volleyball is Coming to Central

McPherson, Kansas –The Central Christian College Athletic Department is excited to announce the addition of men’s volleyball as its 15th NAIA sponsored program. The initiation of men’s volleyball is in alignment with the growing momentum of the sport in collegiate offerings, especially in the NAIA.

Current Women’s Volleyball Coach Ryan Webb, member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, is slated to oversee the launch of the new program while still overseeing the women’s program. Since his hire, Webb has brought positive changes to the women’s program, which are paying dividends on the court. It has been his desire to start a men’s program and develop the volleyball culture on campus.

Athletic Director, Kyle Moody said this of Webb, “Adding a men’s volleyball program has been something we have been researching for some time now. A lot of credit goes to Coach Webb and his diligence and enthusiasm to help make this a reality. Ryan’s dedication to this process, love for volleyball and his ability to connect with college athletes coupled with his coaching and playing pedigree makes him the perfect person to lead this charge. I look forward to his continued success.

When asked about the new program, Webb responded, “I am very excited for the opportunity to lead this initiative. I believe that a strong volleyball culture, including both men and women athletes, can strengthen the campus as a whole and provides additional opportunities for students to engage the unique mission of our College.

The Men’s Volleyball program is set to launch during the 2020-2021 academic year, with the first games slated for January 2021. Be sure to keep up to date on the volleyball program and CCCK Athletics at www.ccctigers.com.
