Senator Rick Wilborn – 2023 Commencement Speaker

Central Christian College of Kansas is honored to have Senator Rick Wilborn, Vice President of the Kansas Senate, joining us as the 2023 Commencement Speaker.

Vice President Wilborn is a 40-year veteran of the insurance industry, serving in executive leadership and 25 years as a registered lobbyist. He has chaired three state-wide insurance programs for over a decade. Senator Wilborn has been active in the local and state party, serving as McPherson County Chair for 12 years. He was a National Convention Delegate in 1996, 2000, and 2004. He was elected to the Senate in 2014 representing the 35th district in McPherson and served as chairman of the Judiciary committee. In 2019, he was named National State Legislator of the Year by the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He was elected by his peers as Kansas Senate Vice President in 2021. He continued to serve in the Senate Judiciary committee as vice-chair and as the Senate Redistricting Committee chair last year. He and his wife, Pam, have two sons and 5 grandkids. Apart from his duties as Vice President, his most important job has been attending sporting events for his grandkids.
