Spiritual Life at CCCK

At Central, our aim is to fulfill our mission of providing a “Christ-Centered Education for Character” to any person who desires to become a faithful steward of heart, soul, mind, and strength.

At Central, your spiritual growth is as important as your academic growth. Therefore, Central has designed several programs and initiatives within spiritual life to help students become firmly rooted in Jesus Christ. Each year Central chooses a spiritual theme to guide the year – all of these initiatives have intention and purpose to drive each person into a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Be sure to get involved in chapel band, bible studies, and other great opportunities!

How Does Chapel Work at CCCK?

Our chapel program is an essential and intentional part of the student experience at Central. Throughout the year we bring in various pastors and speakers to speak on issues from Christian living to current events.

Undergraduate students are required to attend chapel, achieving 20 spiritual “touchpoints” a semester. Each chapel seeks to enhance a student’s relationship with Christ by encouraging corporate worship, discipline, and Character.

Corporate Chapel

Corporate chapel convenes at the McPherson Free Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 10 am and includes worship led by students, and speaking led by students, faculty, staff, and outside speakers.

Wing Devotions

In addition to our normal chapel service held on Wednesdays, each Monday at 10 am, students will meet by residence wings for wing devotions. Under the general leadership of the wing RA, these meetings normally include a time of fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.

Wing Devotions promotes community amongst the wing and provides a rich atmosphere for developing life-long friendships centered on the person and work of Jesus.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17

Churches in McPherson, KS – Find a Church

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” – Hebrews 10:24-25

Central believes that an important part of every Christian’s life is a commitment to fellowship in a local church. Central does not require students to become involved in a local church, but are encouraged to do so.
