Wheat State League

A mass choir of 155 high school students – all part of the Wheat State League – was on Central’s campus November 12th, 2019 which was hosted at the McPherson Free Methodist Church on behalf of Elyria Christian School.

Choirs from the Wheat State League include Canton-Galva, Centre, Elyria, Goessel, Little River, Peabody, Solomon, and Wakefield high schools. Mrs. Amy Tolle, Director of Choral and Vocal Music at Central, led rehearsals throughout the afternoon and directed the evening choral concert that included one selection performed by each choir along with three selections with the entire ensemble.

Ms. Jill Miller (CC ’19), the current music teacher at Elyria Christian School, worked with Mrs. Tolle to host the league festival. Dr. Brett Janssen (CC ’01), Music Department Chair, accompanied the mass choir on piano.
