Alumni Obituary – Stan Sowers

Stan Sowers was born October 16, 1944 in Scott City, Kansas and died in Sacramento, California on February 4, 2024. Stan grew up on a farm 21 miles north of Leoti, Kansas where he attended a one-room schoolhouse, Hilltop grade school. He then attended high school at Central in McPherson, Kansas followed by attendance at Central Jr. College where he completed his initial degree. He then attended and graduated from Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma. He joined the Navy in 1966 and was discharged in 1968 and settled in San, Diego, California

Stan was the third child of five. Preceding him in death were his dad Ellis Sowers, mother Nellie Sowers, and oldest brother Charles Sowers.

Left to grieve are: his wife, Sharon, of the home; daughters Angela Floyd, Amy Manley, their husbands and children; siblings, Ray and Audrey Huber of Rogers Arkansas, Sid Sowers of Valley Center, Kansas, and Randy and Teressa Sowers of Scott City, Kansas.
