The Following is the Criteria to Receive the Teaching Candidate of Character Award
Character can be defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. This year, the Teacher Education Department is awarding one student the “Teaching Candidate of Character” award. Criteria for this award includes a GPA of 3.25 or above, being in good standing with the department, and having senior status. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate positive, Christ-like characteristics and dispositions.
The Following is the Speech Presented by Department Chair Michelle Barreiro
This individual is of strong Christian, moral, and mental Character. A great role model to her peers and future students. She has prioritized being a student first, and extra curriculars second. She is consistently present, engaged, and respectful in the classroom, and has continually been invested in growing as a pre-service teacher. It is my pleasure to announce that the “Teaching Candidate of Character” award goes to Miss Cassidy Anderson.
