Job Description: Becoming a CrossPurpose Fellow is about living differently. At CrossPurpose, we believe the gospel compels us to be all-in, put down deep roots in a community, and love our neighbors even when it costs us. We believe that diversity is not just beautiful, it is essential. We believe in telling the truth, even when it hurts. These are just some of our values, and we take them very seriously.

As a Fellow with the CrossPurpose Center for Urban Leadership, you will be joining a nonprofit and local church community on mission to abolish all forms of poverty in northeast Denver. If you are just interested in a job, this opportunity may not be for you. If you are looking for a way to live out your calling, read on! Our mission is to develop diverse, urban community leaders to help drive Kingdom-centered neighborhood transformation. The CrossPurpose Fellowship is a selective two-year leadership training program that brings together diverse, motivated, and coachable individuals and develops them into Christian leaders who embrace a community-based model of loving our neighbors. Fellows will participate in extensive, continuous professional development and serve every day in a challenging urban nonprofit environment. Upon graduation, Fellows will be prepared for significant leadership roles within the public, private, or nonprofit sectors.

The Fellowship program is comprised of three stages: 1. Followership: During the first four months, Fellows learn community development strategies, best practices in leadership, and a theology of urban ministry as they earn a Master’s level Certificate in Urban Ministry through North Park Theological Seminary. In addition, Fellows have the option to work towards completion of a Master’s in Urban Ministry, Business, or Nonprofit Leadership at highly-discounted rates during the Apprenticeship and Leadership stages. 2. Apprenticeship: Each fellow will receive on-the-job training as an apprentice for eight months with a second-year Fellow or full-time staff member in a specific ministry track. During the Apprenticeship, Fellows join the front lines of our organization and help us achieve our mission of poverty abolition. See CrossPurpose.org for more information on our nonprofit work. 3. Leadership: During their second year, Fellows take on a full-time staff role in our organization as a coach/case manager, career services specialist, training camp TA, youth developer, recruitment specialist, admissions specialist, or another position that both advances our mission and develops their leadership skills. Are you all-in? Let us know. We look forward to meeting you!

Qualifications: Ideal Fellow candidates are dedicated followers of Jesus, highly relational, crave coaching, and are passionate about community development in the urban context. Bachelor’s degree or professional experience is highly recommended, but not required.

How to Apply: Written application is available online. There is also a final interview (via phone or Skype) for acceptance into the CrossPurpose Fellowship Program. http://www.crosspurposecenter.org/the-fellowship/apply-now
