Art Therapy Showcase 2023

Central Christian College of Kansas will be hosting an art therapy exhibit on April 28^th, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. The collection of mixed media showcases some of the works produced by students enrolled in the semester-long Introduction to Art Therapy course. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to explore the interplay between creative expression and psychology, as well as, learn more about art therapy as a therapeutic tool. Students will be on hand to interact with guests. The exhibit will be open in the atrium of the Wesley Arts Building (Greer Auditorium) on the campus of Central Christian College of Kansas.

This course is taught by President Favara, and when asked about this unique course he shared,

If God truly created humanity as a reflection of His own nature, than embedded in each of us is a creative nature that provides a unique medium for communication and expression. Throughout this semester, these students have learned to use art in order to reveal, heal, and discover. In this way, this exhibit is not an atypical art show. Rather it is an experiential journey into the very souls of these students.
